Fair play to the Russians
They have done a brilliant job way above expectations.
Maybe the Qataris will surprise us.

They invaded Ukraine after the Sochi Olympics - what do you reckon is gonna happen when Trump meets Putin in Helsinki on Tuesday, Coughson?

Or the ref who gave the same player 2 yellow cards and let him stay on the field

Fair play to Harry Kane for winning the golden boot despite being awful against Sweden, Colombia and England. All about stat padding against the pub teams in the tournament.

Not as bad as that ref in 1966 that listened to a dodgy lino and cheated the poor West Germans.

Re: Official 2018 World Cup Thread
I disagree totally the statement that the ref ruined the game. If you want an example of a referee not doing his job you only have to look back to 2010 when our own Howard Webb failed to send off at least one, and possibly two, Dutchmen when Holland played Spain.

I must admit I feel a stirring for the Croatian president as well.

She looks like a right raver. A few too many complimentary wines. Hugging everyone including the referee team. Turning into a wet the shirt competition. lol.

Re: Official 2018 World Cup Thread
Well it was not a boring tikka tikka 120 minutes cup final and the best team through the tournament took the honours.

All credit to Croatia for putting up a spirited fight against the French.

Can you imagine Theresa May in an England shirt hugging Harry Kane in the POURING rain?

Another major football match ruined by a referee - it appears the Premiership does not have a monopoly on incompetent cunts

What a cracking end to a cracking World Cup.

Russia have done a brilliant job hosting it with barely a hint of trouble and we have had some wonderful games and goals.

As for England we weren't quite good enough when it matters but we still had some great nights and the games against Columbia and Sweden gave us some great moments that really got the whole country behind the team again.

Now onto the real business.........COYI

The main thing I take from this is that I would happily plough the Croatian President. Top bird!

I wanted Croatia to win, but I will happily settle for an Englishman winning the golden boot, and more importantly, no hat trick in the final.

Best World Cup I’ve seen. Sad it’s finished.

Bring on the premier league!

Own Goal 12 goals

Only just short of Just Fontaine's Golden Boot record of 13 goals in 1958
Well played

GREAT RAIN

Re: Official 2018 World Cup Thread
Literally couldn't give a shit who won, but to say the French were great and deserving does sort of show you know nothing about football.

Couple of diabolical decisions against croatia in the first half which meant they were chasing the game and with the pace of mbappe, then leaving space because you had to proved to be a killer.
